The compass function allows you to cut gaskets up to 420mm in diameter.
No, this kit is specifically designed for standard gasket materials and soft sealing compounds, not for metal cutting.
Yes, the kit comes with a durable BP.109 plastic case and a dedicated PL.99A organizational tray.
The complete set weighs approximately 3.7kg.
The punch components allow for a minimum diameter of 3mm.
Ensure you are using a proper cutting board or soft wood base. If the surface is too hard, the punch will dull; if it is too soft, the material will deflect rather than cut.
Verify that the center pivot pin is securely tightened and fully pressed into the gasket material before beginning the rotation.
Setup for the 245.J2A is straightforward: ensure you have a soft, non-abrasive cutting surface beneath your material to preserve the sharpness of the punch blades. When using the compass tool, ensure the center pivot pin is firmly seated before initiating the rotation to prevent slipping.
Care for the kit involves wiping punches clean of debris after each use. Store all components back in their designated spots in the PL.99A tray to prevent the cutting edges from dulling against one another. If the tools are exposed to moisture, apply a light coat of machine oil to the steel surfaces to prevent oxidation, ensuring the set remains in prime condition for years of service.
