FAQs

What size is the 59 CM variant?

The 59 CM refers to the inner circumference of the cap in centimeters, which fits a standard large head size.

Is this cap machine washable?

No, machine washing can cause the structured front panels to collapse and deform. Always spot clean only.

Can I wear this in the rain?

While the gabardine is durable, it is not waterproof. If it gets soaked, pat it dry immediately to prevent water spots.

What is the material composition?

The cap is crafted from premium cotton gabardine with a matching cotton lining.

Where is the Saint Laurent logo located?

The branding is featured via the 'Y' patch on the front and an engraving on the metal rear adjustment buckle.

Troubleshooting

Cap appears slightly too large

Utilize the adjustable metal strap at the back to tighten the circumference for a more secure, tailored fit.

Visible dust or lint on the surface

Use a soft-bristled clothing brush or a lint roller specifically designed for cotton garments to gently remove debris.

Loss of visor curvature

Gently manipulate the visor by hand to the desired arc and store it in a cool, dry place to allow the cotton fibers to settle.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High-end construction quality
Adjustable fit accommodates different head sizes
Sophisticated letterman aesthetic
Durable cotton gabardine material
Effective ventilation for warm weather

Cons

Requires delicate maintenance to avoid creasing
Structured panels are difficult to reshape if crushed
Premium pricing reflective of luxury branding

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Saint Laurent Y Varsity Cap lasts, adjustment is simple: slide the metal buckle at the rear until the fit is secure against your forehead. For care, avoid submerging the cap in water, as this can degrade the internal structure of the front panels. If the cap becomes soiled, gently spot clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then allow it to air dry away from direct sunlight to prevent fabric fading. It is highly recommended to store the cap on a head-shaped form or a flat surface to maintain the integrity of the visor curve.
