Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install, remove the countershaft sprocket cover, secure the rear wheel to allow for chain removal, and loosen the axle nuts. Remove the old sprocket and inspect the splines on the output shaft for any signs of wear. Slide the new Apico sprocket onto the shaft, ensuring it seats fully. Always use a new tab washer if required by your specific bike model and torque the retaining bolt to your factory service manual's specifications. Maintenance-wise, keep the chain properly tensioned and lubricated with high-quality off-road chain wax to maximize the lifespan of the sprocket teeth. Regularly check for 'hooking' or sharp edges on the teeth after heavy riding sessions.
