Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before starting, ensure your timber surface is sanded thoroughly up to 180-240 grit and is free of dust or oils, as any debris will prevent proper penetration. Apply the dye in a well-ventilated area to manage solvent fumes. While the dye is compatible with most standard wood finishes, it is recommended to allow the dye to fully cure for at least one hour before applying clear coats like lacquer, shellac, or wax. Store bottles in a cool, dark place away from open flames or heat sources. Keep lids tightly closed to prevent the spirit solvent from evaporating, which can thicken the dye and alter its performance.
