Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Installation of porcelain paving slabs requires a prepared sub-base, typically a compacted layer of MOT Type 1 aggregate followed by a sand or bedding mortar layer. Ensure the sub-base is level and adequately drained. Lay the slabs on the prepared bed, tapping them gently into place to ensure a firm bond. Use appropriate paving spacers to maintain consistent joint widths.
Compatibility:
These slabs are designed for outdoor use on patios, terraces, pathways, and other hard landscaping projects. They are compatible with most standard external tiling adhesives and grouts when installed on a suitable sub-base. Ensure any adhesive or grout used is rated for outdoor porcelain tiles.
Care:
Porcelain paving is renowned for its low maintenance.
- Regular Cleaning: Sweep away loose debris regularly.
- Washing: For general cleaning, use a stiff brush with water and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Stain Removal: For stubborn stains, consult specific porcelain cleaner recommendations, but typically, a gentle scrub with water and mild soap is sufficient due to the non-porous nature of the material.
*Always avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the surface.*
