Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure existing stair treads are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or loose material. Any unevenness should be leveled.
- Prepare the appropriate adhesive (e.g., a strong wood or flooring adhesive suitable for treads).
- Apply the adhesive evenly to the back of the Stair Klad tread or the existing stair tread, following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Carefully position the Stair Klad tread onto the existing stair, ensuring the bullnose edge aligns correctly.
- Press down firmly and evenly across the entire surface to ensure full contact and adhesion. Use weights if recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Allow the adhesive to cure completely according to the manufacturer's guidelines before walking on the treads.
Compatibility:
This tread is designed to be universal and glues onto existing stair treads. It is compatible with most standard straight staircases. Ensure the existing tread depth and width can accommodate the 1200mm length and 235mm depth. Not suitable for spiral staircases or stairs with significant damage or unevenness that cannot be rectified.
Care:
- Clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the lacquered finish.
- For routine cleaning, a soft brush or vacuum cleaner can be used to remove dust and debris.
- Protect the surface from sharp objects and excessive moisture.
