The Bosch Professional X440 Sanding Belt is designed for trade professionals and serious DIYers who require high-performance material removal from wood, old paint, and varnish. Featuring a robust X-cloth backing and semi-friable aluminium oxide grain, this belt offers exceptional durability and efficiency during heavy-duty sanding tasks. While it excels at smoothing surfaces and removing coatings, users should note that its aggressive nature requires steady control to avoid material gouging on delicate wood grain.

The X440 is specifically optimized for wood, paint, and varnish; using it on metal may cause the abrasive to dull rapidly or overheat.
G100 refers to a medium-fine grit size, suitable for intermediate sanding, leveling, and preparing surfaces for final finishes.
Yes, always align the arrow printed on the back of the belt with the rotation direction of your sander.
Replace the belt when you notice a significant decrease in material removal rate, visible bald spots on the abrasive surface, or frayed edges.
This belt is designed for standard 75 x 508 mm portable belt sanders, but always verify your specific model's manual for confirmation.
Adjust the tracking knob on your sander while the tool is running until the belt centers itself on the drive and idler wheels.
Ensure your dust extraction system is active and functioning correctly; otherwise, manually clean the belt with a sanding belt cleaning stick.
Check that the sanding pressure is not excessive and ensure the abrasive is not being used on materials harder than wood, such as embedded nails or screws.
To install the Bosch X440 belt, ensure the belt sander is disconnected from the power source. Release the tensioning lever on your tool, align the belt direction with the arrow on the interior of the sanding cloth, and engage the tensioning mechanism. Ensure the belt is centered on the rollers before starting the motor to prevent fraying at the edges. For maintenance, keep the belts stored in a cool, dry place to maintain the integrity of the resin bond. Avoid folding the belts, as creasing the X-cloth backing can weaken the material and lead to premature failure at the seam.
