Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting the most out of your bareMinerals Original Loose Powder Foundation involves proper application and product care.
Application Steps (Swirl, Tap, Buff)
- Prep Your Skin: Start with clean, moisturized skin. Apply any primers or liquid SPF if desired and let them fully absorb.
- Dispense Product: Gently tap a small amount of powder into the lid. This acts as your mixing palette.
- Swirl: Swirl your brush (a flat-top kabuki brush is often recommended) into the powder in the lid until the minerals are absorbed into the brush bristles.
- Tap: Tap the brush gently against the side of the lid to remove any excess powder. This prevents over-application and ensures an even finish.
- Buff: Starting with the outer edges of your face, buff the foundation onto your skin in a circular motion. Work your way inward. Apply light pressure and continue buffing until you achieve your desired coverage and a seamless look.
- Build (Optional): For more coverage, repeat steps 2-5, applying thin layers until satisfied.
Compatibility
- Brushes: Best applied with dense, synthetic brushes designed for powder foundation, such as a kabuki brush.
- Primers: Compatible with most face primers. Using a hydrating primer can benefit drier skin types.
- Concealers: Can be used over liquid or cream concealers (applied before powder) or for light spot concealing by pressing powder directly onto blemishes.
- Setting Sprays: A setting spray can help meld the powder into the skin for a more natural, longer-lasting finish.
Care & Storage
- Storage: Keep the container tightly closed when not in use to prevent spillage and protect the product from moisture. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Brush Cleaning: Regularly clean your foundation brushes (at least once a week) to ensure hygienic application and optimal product performance. Dirty brushes can lead to uneven application and potential skin issues.
