Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the iron and all packaging materials.
- First Use Prep: Before first use, gently wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Fill the water tank and iron an old piece of fabric for a few minutes to clear any manufacturing residues. *Ensure your iron is unplugged when filling.*
- Fill Water Tank: Open the easy-fill inlet cover. Using a measuring jug, fill the water tank with clean tap water up to the `MAX` line. Do not overfill. Close the inlet cover securely.
- Plug In: Insert the power plug into a suitable wall socket.
- Set Temperature: Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting for your fabric type. Wait for the indicator light to go out, signaling the iron has reached the set temperature.
Compatibility
This iron is designed for use on all fabric types, from delicate synthetics to robust cottons and linens. Always check the garment's care label for recommended ironing temperatures. Adjust the temperature dial accordingly.
Care
- Cleaning the Soleplate: If the soleplate becomes marked, clean it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner designed for irons. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemical cleaners.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits can build up inside the iron, affecting steam performance. Follow the manufacturer's descaling instructions provided in your full product manual. Regular descaling (e.g., every 3-6 months depending on water hardness) is recommended.
- Emptying Water Tank: After each use, always empty the water tank to prevent mineral buildup and odors.
- Storage: Allow the iron to cool completely, indicated by the SafeStore heat indicator, before storing it vertically in a dry, safe place.
