FAQs

Can I use this on my mountain bike?

Yes, it is highly recommended for mountain biking in wet or muddy conditions due to its water-resistant properties.

How often should I re-apply?

Re-apply whenever the chain begins to sound dry or after riding in heavy rain or deep mud.

Do I need to wash my chain every time?

While a full degrease is not needed every ride, wiping the chain clean with a dry rag before re-lubing is essential for longevity.

Is this safe for carbon fiber components?

Yes, the formula is safe for use on all standard bicycle materials, including steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber.

What should I do if I get lube on my brake rotors?

If lubricant gets on your brake rotors, clean them immediately with a dedicated disc brake cleaner to prevent loss of stopping power.

Troubleshooting

Chain feels gummy or attracts too much grit

You have likely applied too much lubricant. Wipe the chain thoroughly with a clean rag and reduce the amount of product used in future applications.

Drivetrain makes noise shortly after application

The chain was likely not fully cleaned before application. Strip the existing lube with a degreaser and re-apply according to the instructions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent penetration into internal chain links
  • Provides long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion
  • Versatile enough to be used on other moving metal parts
  • Easy-to-apply spout for precise dosing

Cons

  • Requires a clean, dry drivetrain for optimal performance
  • Attracts dirt more easily than dry lubes if not wiped down
  • Requires drying time before the bike is ready to ride

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure maximum effectiveness, follow these steps for maintenance:

  1. Preparation: Use a degreaser to remove old lube and grime from the chain and cassette. Ensure the drivetrain is completely dry before proceeding.
  2. Preparation: Shake the bottle vigorously to ensure the lubricating agents are properly mixed.
  3. Application: Apply a moderate, steady stream of lube to the top of the chain while backpedaling the cranks to ensure all links are coated.
  4. Penetration: Let the bike sit for at least 5-10 minutes to allow the formula to seep into the internal components.
  5. Maintenance: Always wipe off excess lube with a clean rag. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dry place to maintain product integrity.
