Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install these T-hinges, ensure your gate post and gate frame are made of a material capable of holding long screws securely. Begin by marking the hinge positions while the gate is propped in the desired closed position. Use a level to ensure the gate is perfectly vertical before marking the screw holes.
Because of the weight-bearing nature of these hinges, use high-quality, corrosion-resistant screws (sold separately) to prevent rust bleeding onto your wood or metal gate. For care and maintenance, it is recommended to apply a silicone-based lubricant to the hinge pin once or twice a year to ensure smooth movement and to prevent rust build-up in the joint, especially in humid or coastal climates.
