Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup: Before first use, it is recommended to wash the pan with warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the entire surface and heat it gently on the stovetop for a few minutes, then wipe away excess oil. This process helps to build the initial seasoning.
Compatibility: This grill pan is compatible with gas, induction, ceramic, and electric hobs. It is also oven-safe and can be used on outdoor grills.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Always hand wash the pan with warm water and a non-abrasive sponge or brush. Avoid using harsh detergents or metal scouring pads, as these can strip the seasoning. If food is stuck, simmer some water in the pan for a few minutes to loosen it.
- Drying: Dry the pan *immediately* and *thoroughly* after washing. Leaving it wet can lead to rust.
- Seasoning: After drying, apply a very thin layer of cooking oil to the entire pan (inside and out). Heat the pan on the stovetop over medium heat for a few minutes until the oil just begins to smoke, then let it cool. This regular re-seasoning is crucial for maintaining the non-stick surface and preventing rust.
- Storage: Store the pan in a dry place. Placing a paper towel inside the pan can help absorb any residual moisture and protect the seasoning.
