The Snowdon Timber Shiplap Cladding is an ideal solution for DIY enthusiasts and trade professionals looking to finish or renovate outdoor sheds, garden rooms, and exterior walls with a clean, professional aesthetic. These tongue and groove (T&G) weatherboards provide excellent weather resistance through factory pressure treatment, though users should note that they require proper finishing or sealing to maintain color and longevity over many years of exposure.

While technically possible, these boards are specifically pressure-treated for outdoor use and may have a distinct odor or chemical residue not ideal for interior living spaces.
Yes, once the boards have dried out sufficiently after installation, apply a high-quality exterior primer followed by outdoor wood paint.
Each board covers approximately 0.36 square meters.
No, they should always be fixed to a timber batten framework to allow for airflow and prevent moisture buildup between the cladding and the masonry.
You will need a circular saw or hand saw, a drill, a spirit level, measuring tape, and galvanized nails or screws.
While the treatment is designed for long-term decay resistance, environmental factors vary, so it is recommended to maintain the boards with a sealant annually.
Check the groove for debris or wood shavings and ensure the board is perfectly level before applying pressure.
This is a normal characteristic of the pressure treatment process; allow the boards to air out in a dry, ventilated area before installation.
Ensure the boards were allowed to acclimatize to the outdoor environment for 24-48 hours before fitting to account for natural expansion and contraction.
Before installation, ensure your timber framework is level and square, as this directly affects the alignment of the cladding. Use galvanized nails or screws to prevent corrosion over time. When cutting, always treat exposed end-grain with a high-quality timber preservative to maintain the integrity of the pressure treatment. While the timber is pre-treated for decay resistance, we recommend applying a water-repellent wood stain or exterior-grade paint within the first season to enhance UV protection and prevent the wood from silvering due to sun exposure.
