The Deflow Fang 6.5" Longboard Fin is designed for performance-minded longboarders and mid-length surfers who prioritize speed and drive. It is an ideal choice for riders operating single fin boards under 7.0 feet or those experimenting with 2+1 fin setups; however, its stiff, minimal-flex construction is best suited for experienced surfers who prefer a locked-in, high-speed feel rather than the loose, pivot-heavy ride of traditional, flexible longboard fins.

While it can fit in the box, the 6.5" size is optimized for boards under 7.0 feet. It may feel too small and lack the necessary hold for a standard 9'0" board.
The Deflow Fang is part of their Premium Collection, utilizing high-quality composite materials designed for minimal flex and high performance.
Usually, the fin is supplied without a screw, so you should use the one already provided with your surfboard's fin box.
A single fin setup offers a classic, smooth glide, while a 2+1 setup adds two side-bites for extra stability, hold, and speed in faster waves.
Move the fin toward the tail (back) for more hold and drive, or move it toward the nose (forward) for a looser feel and easier turning.
Check if the fin screw is fully tightened. If it remains loose, use a small piece of duct tape or a specialized fin shim on the base of the fin to create a snug fit.
Sand the base of the fin very lightly with fine-grit sandpaper to remove any excess resin or buildup. Ensure the box itself is free of dried salt and sand.
To install, ensure your fin box is clear of sand and debris. Slide the base of the fin into the box, position it according to your preference—forward for more pivot, backward for more drive—and secure it using the standard fin plate and screw. Periodically check that the screw is tightened firmly before every session.
Since this fin is made from rigid materials, avoid scraping it against shallow reefs or sandbars to maintain the integrity of the trailing edge. After surfing in saltwater, rinse the fin and the fin box thoroughly with fresh water to prevent mineral buildup and salt corrosion within the box mechanism.
