The Hyde Tools Pro Brass Stiff Putty Scraper is designed for professionals and DIYers tackling paint scraping and putty removal in confined spaces, ensuring the underlying material remains undamaged. Its primary benefit is the non-sparking brass blade, ideal for sensitive environments, though its stiff nature may not be suitable for very delicate surfaces.

The blade is made of brass, a softer metal alloy that does not produce sparks when struck against hard surfaces, unlike steel.
While it's designed to preserve underlying materials, its stiff nature means caution is advised on very soft surfaces like freshly painted drywall. Test in a hidden area first.
The scraping edge is 51mm wide.
It is ideal for hardened or old paint and putty. For very soft, uncured putty, a more flexible scraper might be easier to work with.
It is suitable for detailed tasks within construction, such as paint or putty removal in tight areas. For large-scale material removal, a wider, more robust scraper might be more efficient.
Clean the blade with a dry cloth after each use and store it in a dry environment to prevent corrosion or damage.
Ensure the blade is clean and free of debris. Check that the material being scraped is not too soft for a stiff blade. Apply firm, consistent pressure.
Ensure your hand is positioned correctly on the overmould grip. For extended use, consider wearing work gloves for added comfort.
Reduce the amount of force applied. The brass is designed to be non-sparking, which can make it softer than steel. Avoid prying with the blade.
Setup: This tool requires no assembly. It is ready to use straight out of the package.
Compatibility: The Hyde Tools Pro Brass Stiff Putty Scraper is compatible with various surfaces including wood, metal, glass, and some plastics. However, always test on an inconspicuous area first, especially on softer materials, to ensure compatibility and avoid damage.
Care: To maintain performance, clean the brass blade after each use with a dry cloth to remove debris. For stubborn residue, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by thorough drying. Store in a dry place. Avoid exposing the scraper to corrosive chemicals.
