The Aspen Ottoman Bed is designed for homeowners and apartment dwellers looking to maximize bedroom space through efficient integrated storage. Its primary benefit is the gas-lift base that reveals ample room for linens and seasonal items, though users should note that the lifting mechanism requires a mattress to be present to function safely and correctly.

You can use any UK standard small double mattress, provided it is no deeper than 23cm and weighs no more than 45kg.
The gas-lift mechanism requires the weight of a mattress to function. Without a mattress, the pistons may be too powerful and cause the frame to fly open.
The Aspen Ottoman Bed frame has a maximum load capacity of 350kg, including the weight of the mattress and users.
The bed comes in a flat-pack format. It is recommended to have two people present for assembly to handle the frame sections safely.
Use a vacuum cleaner with an upholstery brush for regular maintenance. For stains, use a mild soap and water solution on a soft cloth, blotting rather than rubbing.
The gas pistons are designed to be compressed by the weight of a mattress. Ensure a mattress is correctly positioned on the frame.
Check that the mattress does not exceed the 45kg weight limit and verify that no items are trapped between the frame and the base.
Check all nuts and bolts for tightness and ensure the sprung slats are securely seated in their plastic caps.
Proper setup is critical for the safety and longevity of the gas-lift system. Ensure all bolts are tightened during assembly, as loose hardware can cause the mechanism to bind. This bed is compatible with UK small double mattresses; however, ensure your mattress does not exceed 45kg in weight or 23cm in depth to avoid damaging the pistons. For care, keep the grey fabric clean by vacuuming regularly with an upholstery attachment and spot-cleaning spills immediately with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals on the upholstery.
