The Tamiya Finishing Abrasives Ultra Fine is designed for modelers and hobbyists seeking a precise finish on their Tamiya products and other materials like metal, plastic, or wood. Its key benefit is the ultra-fine grit, offering superior smoothing and polishing capabilities for intricate details. A potential caveat is that the ultra-fine nature may require multiple passes for removing significant material, emphasizing its role in finishing rather than heavy shaping.

These abrasives are suitable for metal, plastic, and wood. They are particularly effective for model-making materials.
Yes, they are designed for both wet and dry use. Wet sanding can help reduce dust and provide a smoother finish.
The 1200 grit is for initial smoothing, the 1500 grit is for further refinement, and the 2000 grit is for final polishing to achieve a very smooth surface.
Rinse the sandpaper under running water to remove debris. Allow it to air dry completely before storing.
These are ultra-fine abrasives, best suited for finishing and smoothing. For removing large imperfections, coarser grits would be more appropriate first.
The set includes one sheet of 1200 grit, two sheets of 1500 grit, and two sheets of 2000 grit.
Ensure you are using the appropriate grit for the material. For wet sanding, use plenty of water to flush away debris. Clean the sandpaper surface frequently by rinsing it under water.
Apply consistent, even pressure. Use a sanding block or a flat surface for larger areas. Ensure the workpiece is securely held.
This may indicate the sandpaper has reached the end of its effective life, or it might be due to excessive force. Clean thoroughly and assess if replacement is needed.
Setup: These abrasive sheets require no setup. They are ready to use directly from the packaging.
Compatibility: Compatible with metal, plastic, wood, and other similar hobby materials. Ensure the material being worked on can withstand sanding.
