Product Information

Full details

The Fine Bedding Company Cooling Smart Temperature Mattress Protector is designed for individuals who struggle with night sweats or overheating during sleep. By utilizing advanced HeiQ Smart Temp technology, this protector actively manages your body temperature to ensure a comfortable sleep environment. While it provides exceptional moisture-wicking and cooling benefits, users should note that the cooling sensation is designed to be responsive rather than a constant, intense blast of cold air, which may not satisfy those seeking an ice-cold surface.

FAQs

Can I wash this in a standard washing machine?

Yes, it is machine washable at 60°C, which is effective for cleaning and killing dust mites.

Will this make my bed feel cold?

It provides a fresh, cooling sensation, but it is not intended to make the bed feel icy. It acts to manage and balance temperature.

Does it protect against spills?

While the focus is on temperature regulation and moisture wicking, it acts as a barrier against perspiration and skin oils, though it is not marketed as a waterproof protector.

How often should I wash the protector?

It is recommended to wash it as frequently as your bed sheets to maintain hygiene and ensure the cooling technology functions without interference from dirt or skin oils.

Is the cooling effect permanent?

The HeiQ Smart Temp technology is designed to retain its performance wash after wash when cared for according to the instructions.

Troubleshooting

The protector feels warm.

The product is designed to activate when your body temperature rises. Ensure you are not using synthetic materials for your sheets, as these can trap heat before it reaches the protector.

The fabric is shifting or bunching.

Ensure the elasticated edges are pulled firmly underneath the corners of your mattress to create a flat, taut surface.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Responds dynamically to changing body temperatures
Machine washable at 60°C for thorough hygiene
Breathable 200 thread count cotton fabric
Easy to maintain and quick to dry
Softly quilted for enhanced comfort

Cons

Cooling sensation is heat-activated rather than constant
Requires proper fitment to ensure smoothness across the mattress
Cannot replace the need for a high-quality mattress if the base is uncomfortable

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install, simply stretch the elasticated corners over your mattress, ensuring a snug fit. It is compatible with most standard mattress depths. For care, it is machine washable at 60°C; this high-heat wash is vital for maintaining hygiene and ensuring the fabric remains free from allergens. The material is designed to dry quickly, but avoid using harsh bleaching agents or high-heat tumble drying, as these can degrade the performance of the cooling treatment over time.
