This set offers the perfect balance of everyday utility and refined design, featuring a smooth, modern profile that complements any table setting. FAQs
Are these plates microwave safe?
Yes, all pieces in the stoneware collection are microwave safe, making them ideal for reheating leftovers.
Can I put these plates directly in the freezer?
The stoneware is freezer-to-oven safe, provided you allow the dish to thaw or reach room temperature before placing it into a preheated oven to avoid thermal shock.
Is the dinnerware dishwasher safe?
Yes, the entire set is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
What is the weight of the plates?
As high-quality stoneware, these pieces are substantial and heavier than fine porcelain, contributing to their durability and heat retention.
Will the grey finish fade over time?
No, the enamel finish is heat-fired and non-porous, meaning it is colorfast and will not fade or absorb odors.
Troubleshooting
Stubborn food residue stuck to the surface
Soak the item in warm soapy water for 15-20 minutes, then clean with a non-abrasive plastic or nylon scrub pad.
Marks or grey lines appearing on the glaze
These are often metal transfer marks from cutlery. Use a ceramic-safe cleaner or a mild baking soda paste to gently buff them out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Elegant, minimalist aesthetic fits any decor style
- Extremely durable, chip-resistant enamel coating
- Generous sizing on dinner plates and pasta bowls
- Easy to clean due to the smooth, non-stick surface
- Safe for use in microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers
Cons
- Heavier weight than porcelain alternatives
- May crack if subjected to extreme thermal shock
- Requires careful handling to prevent chipping on edges
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Le Creuset stoneware is straightforward; simply wash all pieces in warm soapy water before the first use. To ensure long-lasting performance, avoid using harsh abrasive scouring pads, which can dull the enamel finish over time. While the set is dishwasher safe, placing items carefully to prevent rattling against other ceramics will preserve the edges. For oven use, avoid extreme temperature transitions; for example, do not move a frozen plate directly into a hot oven, as the sudden shift can cause thermal shock and lead to cracking.
