Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Lightly scarify the seeds before planting to improve germination rates.
- Sowing: Use a free-draining, damp seed compost. Cover seeds with 6mm (1/8in) of compost or vermiculite.
- Germination: Maintain a temperature between 20-25C (68-77F) using a propagator or plastic bag. Do not exclude light, as it is necessary for successful sprouting.
- Acclimatization: Once large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm pots. Gradually introduce the plants to cooler conditions before moving them outdoors after all frost risk has passed.
- Maintenance: Plant 30cm (12in) apart and ensure they have full sun exposure for optimal growth.
