FAQs

What is the best surface to install the anchor on?

Concrete or solid wood surfaces provide the most secure and reliable installation. Always use appropriate fixings for the surface material.

What type of chain or cable should I use?

Use a high-quality, hardened steel chain or cable with a security rating appropriate for your needs. Consider chains with protective sleeves to prevent scratching.

Can the anchor be used outdoors?

Yes, the anchor is designed for outdoor use and is weather-resistant. However, regular maintenance is recommended to prolong its life.

What tools are needed for installation?

You will need a drill, appropriate drill bits for your mounting surface, a wrench or socket set, and possibly a level to ensure the anchor is installed correctly.

How do I maintain the anchor?

Regularly inspect the anchor for any signs of wear or damage. Clean the anchor with a damp cloth and apply a lubricant to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation. Check the mounting hardware to make sure it's secure.

Can I install the anchor on drywall?

No, drywall is not a suitable surface for securing the anchor. It does not provide adequate strength to resist forced removal. Install on a solid surface like concrete or wood.

What is the size of the anchor?

The anchor is 160 x 80 x 55mm.

Troubleshooting

Anchor is loose after installation.

Check the mounting hardware. Tighten or replace bolts/screws as needed. If the surface is damaged, consider using different fixings or re-locating the anchor.

Difficulty inserting chain or cable.

Ensure the chain or cable is compatible with the anchor's opening size. Try lubricating the anchor with a suitable lubricant to reduce friction.

Rust or corrosion appears on the anchor.

Clean the anchor and apply a rust-inhibiting lubricant. Consider applying a protective coating if the anchor is exposed to harsh weather conditions.
