Setup, Compatibility & Care
When planting, dig a hole twice the width of the 1L container and ensure the soil is amended with grit or perlite if it is heavy. Position the plant at the same soil level it occupied in the pot. While the plant is drought-tolerant once established, provide regular water during the first few weeks of its initial season. For care, cut back spent flower spikes in late autumn to tidy the plant and encourage fresh semi-evergreen growth. Prunella grandiflora generally does not require heavy fertilizing; a light layer of compost in early spring is usually sufficient to maintain its vigor.
