Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or old finishes. Bare wood should be lightly sanded. Previously finished wood may require stripping and sanding back to bare wood for optimal results.
Application: Stir the stain thoroughly before use. Apply evenly using a clean brush or a lint-free cloth. Work with the direction of the wood grain. For a deeper colour, apply a second coat once the first coat is dry to the touch (usually within 1-2 hours, but check conditions). Wipe away any excess stain with a clean cloth.
Compatibility: This stain is intended for interior woodwork and is suitable for use on furniture, doors, skirting boards, and other decorative wood elements. It is designed to be used *before* applying a protective topcoat such as varnish, lacquer, or wax.
Care: Once the stain is dry and a topcoat has been applied, clean treated surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
