Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure both your source device (e.g., computer, graphics card) and your display(s) have compatible DisplayPort 2.0 or earlier ports.
- Connect the DisplayPort connector from the cable firmly into the DisplayPort output on your source device.
- Connect the other DisplayPort connector firmly into the DisplayPort input on your display.
- If using DSC for higher resolutions, ensure your graphics card and monitor firmware support Display Stream Compression (DSC 1.2a).
- Power on your devices. Your operating system should automatically detect the display(s).
Compatibility:
This cable is backward compatible with DisplayPort 1.4a, 1.4, 1.2, and 1.1. However, to utilize DP 2.0 features like 16K resolution or higher refresh rates, both the source device and the display must support these advanced specifications and potentially DSC.
Care:
- Avoid bending the cable sharply, especially near the connectors.
- Keep the connectors clean. Use a dry, soft cloth if necessary. Avoid using solvents or liquids.
- Store the cable away from extreme heat or direct sunlight when not in use.
- The braided exterior provides enhanced durability, but avoid exposing it to abrasive surfaces.
