Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt Paint is an ideal choice for professional decorators and DIY enthusiasts looking to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish on interior walls and ceilings. Its primary benefit is its exceptional opacity and flat finish, which effectively masks minor surface imperfections for a uniform look; however, users should note that the matt finish is less washable than satin or gloss alternatives, making it better suited for low-traffic areas like bedrooms and living rooms.

This product is designed for general interior walls and ceilings. It is not recommended for high-moisture areas like kitchens or bathrooms where a dedicated moisture-resistant paint would perform better.
A medium-pile roller is best for large wall areas to ensure an even finish, while a quality synthetic brush is ideal for cutting into corners and edges.
The paint is quick-drying, typically touch-dry within a few hours, though drying times can vary based on room temperature and humidity.
On previously painted surfaces, no primer is usually required. For bare plaster, a mist coat is recommended to seal the surface.
The finish is a flat matt, which is not as durable or wipeable as silk or eggshell finishes. Gently cleaning with a damp cloth may work for light marks, but heavy scrubbing is not advised.
While it can be sprayed, it is formulated primarily for traditional brush and roller application. Follow the instructions on the paint container regarding dilution ratios for spray equipment.
Ensure you are using a quality roller, maintain a 'wet edge' while painting, and avoid over-working the paint as it begins to dry.
Check if the surface was properly primed; porous surfaces may 'drink' the first coat, requiring a second coat for a uniform finish.
This is usually caused by inadequate surface preparation; ensure the wall was free of dust, grease, and loose debris before painting.
Before starting, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking material. If the surface is porous, such as bare plaster, use a suitable mist coat (a diluted mixture of paint and water) to ensure proper adhesion. For application, use a high-quality medium-pile roller for walls and a synthetic brush for corners and trim. During application, maintain a wet edge to avoid overlapping marks, especially when working in large rooms. Once finished, store the remaining paint in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly secured to prevent skinning. Clean tools immediately after use with warm, soapy water.
