Troubleshooting
Mice are not attracted to the bait.
Ensure the bait is fresh and hasn't been exposed to excessive heat or moisture. Verify that the bait is correctly placed within the trap's feeding area. Consider that mice may have alternative food sources nearby; try to remove them. The specific scent profile may also be a factor; while generally effective, individual mouse populations can vary.
Bait appears to be drying out prematurely.
Store unused refills in their original packaging in a cool, dry location. Ensure the trap is not placed in an area with extreme temperature fluctuations or direct sunlight. The wax formulation is designed for longevity, so significant drying may indicate storage issues or extreme environmental conditions.
The refill doesn't fit correctly into the trap.
Confirm you are using The Big Cheese Free To Go trap. These refills are specifically sized for this trap model (STV200). Ensure there are no obstructions in the trap's bait holder and that you are inserting the refill in the correct orientation as per the trap's user manual.
