Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before installation, ensure the lead pipe is cut cleanly and free from significant deformations, as the coupler requires a consistent surface to maintain its seal. Always deburr the edges of the pipe to prevent damage to the internal O-rings of the coupling. When tightening, ensure you follow standard plumbing torque practices—avoid over-tightening which can stress the plastic components. For long-term care, periodically inspect the joint area for any signs of moisture or weeping after the initial installation. Ensure the pipe is properly supported on either side of the coupler to prevent mechanical strain on the connection point.
