No, this is a 12-inch scale figure, making it significantly larger than the standard 6-inch Marvel Legends line.
Does it come with any weapons?
Yes, it includes two comic-inspired accessories: a green version of Captain America's shield and a green version of Thor's hammer.
Is this a limited edition item?
This figure was released as part of the Avengers 60th Anniversary series, making it a special commemorative piece.
Can the accessories be held by other figures?
While the grips are designed for the Super-Adaptoid, they may fit other Marvel Legends figures if the hand sculpts are compatible.
How should I clean the figure?
Use a soft, dry cloth or a clean, soft-bristled brush to gently dust the surface. Avoid chemical cleaners that may damage the paint.
Troubleshooting
Joints feel stiff or tight out of the box
Gently manipulate the joint back and forth to loosen it, or place the figure in warm water for a few seconds to soften the plastic.
Figure is difficult to balance in dynamic poses
Use a specialized action figure display stand or adjust the feet to a wider base stance to better distribute the center of gravity.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Striking 12-inch scale provides a standout centerpiece for collections
- High-quality paint applications and sculpt fidelity
- Versatile articulation allows for diverse combat poses
- Includes iconic themed accessories that enhance display options
Cons
- Larger footprint requires more display space than standard figures
- Scale disparity may look out of place next to smaller 6-inch figures
- Fixed green color palette limits alternative custom display configurations
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up the Super-Adaptoid, carefully remove the figure and accessories from the packaging, ensuring that the joints are worked gently before attempting extreme poses to prevent stiffness. While designed to stand on its own, use a flight stand or dynamic display base if you intend to pose the figure in jumping or flying positions. Regarding compatibility, while it is marketed as part of the Marvel Legends ecosystem, its 12-inch size is intentionally larger than the standard 6-inch scale, meaning it will appear as a 'giant' relative to your standard hero figures. To maintain the figure, keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent plastic yellowing or paint fading, and clean with a dry, soft-bristled brush to remove dust from the joints and crevices.
