FAQs

Can I use this paint on materials other than plastic?

How do I clean my airbrush after use?

Disassemble your airbrush and clean the parts thoroughly with water or a dedicated acrylic cleaner.

What is the best way to thin the paint for airbrushing?

Use a dedicated acrylic thinner. Start with a 1:1 ratio of paint to thinner and adjust as needed.

How long does it take for the paint to dry?

Drying time depends on the environment and thickness of the coat, but typically it's dry to the touch within 30 minutes to an hour. Allow several hours for complete curing.

Can I mix Tamiya acrylic paints?

Yes, Tamiya acrylic paints are designed to be mixed together to create custom colors.

Do I need to prime my model before painting?

Priming is highly recommended as it improves paint adhesion and provides a better surface for the paint.

Troubleshooting

Paint is clumping or drying too quickly.

Thin the paint with an appropriate thinner, or ensure the airbrush is properly maintained and cleaned.

Paint is not adhering to the surface.

Ensure the surface is properly primed and clean. Lightly sand the surface if necessary to improve adhesion.

Brush strokes are visible.

Use a high-quality brush and apply thin, even coats. Consider airbrushing for a smoother finish.
