Product Information

Full details

The RidgeMonkey ProCare Fishcare Solution (RM404) is designed for anglers who prioritize fish health and ethical catch-and-release practices. This treatment is perfect for treating minor injuries like hook-hold marks, lifted scales, or torn fins on freshwater fish. While highly effective at sealing wounds against infection, users should note that it requires a clean, dry surface to bond properly, which can be challenging in extremely wet conditions.

FAQs

Is ProCare safe for all freshwater species?

Yes, it is formulated specifically for freshwater fish and has been extensively tested in the koi industry.

Can I use this on deep ulcers?

It is designed to create a seal over wounds and ulcers to prevent infection; however, for severe health issues, consult with local fishery management guidelines.

Does it wash off immediately in the water?

The formula is designed to create a waterproof seal that remains intact long enough to protect the fish while natural healing begins.

How should I store the bottle?

Keep it in a cool, dark place within your tackle box, ensuring the cap is screwed on tightly.

Is it harmful if the fish ingests a small amount?

ProCare is made with natural ingredients trusted by fish care specialists, but it should only be applied externally to the wound site.

Troubleshooting

The solution won't stick to the wound.

The wound site is likely too wet; use a sterile, dry cloth to pat the area completely dry before applying.

The applicator tip is clogged.

Gently clear the dried product from the nozzle using a clean needle or pin.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Proven ingredients derived from professional koi rearing
Provides a protective waterproof seal for faster recovery
Effective across a wide variety of freshwater fish injuries
Compact bottle design fits easily into any tackle bag

Cons

Requires a relatively dry surface for optimal application
Does not replace the need for careful handling techniques
Can be difficult to apply during heavy rainfall

Setup, Compatibility & Care

No complex setup is required. Simply keep the bottle tightly capped when not in use to prevent the solution from thickening or drying out. Store the product in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the natural ingredients. While it is compatible with all freshwater fish, always ensure your hands are clean and free of harsh chemicals or sunscreens before touching the fish or applying the solution. If the tip of the applicator becomes clogged, use a clean pin to clear it rather than forcing the bottle.
