This guide is for horse owners seeking to understand and effectively use the Cupris Solid Double Jointed Snaffle by Waldhausen. This bit is designed to promote salivation and chewing in horses thanks to its copper mouthpiece. A key thing to remember is that proper bit fitting is crucial for your horse's comfort and performance.

The copper promotes salivation and chewing, which can help the horse relax and accept the bit more readily.
While it is suitable for most horses, individual preferences vary. It is important to monitor your horse's reaction and adjust as needed.
Measure the horse's mouth width. The bit should fit comfortably without pinching. Consult a bit fitting guide or professional if needed.
Clean the bit after each use to remove any saliva or debris and prevent oxidation of the copper.
The double-jointed design can provide a more even pressure distribution in the horse's mouth, and helps to reduce the nutcracker effect.
The rings are made of stainless steel.
Inspect the bit regularly for any signs of wear, such as sharp edges, damage to the joints, or excessive wear on the mouthpiece. Replace the bit if any damage is found.
Check the bit's fit and consider the horse's individual preferences. Experiment with different bit positions or consult with a professional bit fitter.
Clean the copper mouthpiece regularly with a bit cleaner or a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda to remove any oxidation.
Setup: Ensure the bit is the correct size for your horse's mouth. The bit should sit comfortably without pinching or being too loose. It is recommended to have a professional bit fitter check the fit.
Compatibility: This bit is compatible with standard bridle setups. Check that the bit rings can move freely within the bridle cheeks.
Care: After each use, clean the copper mouthpiece to remove saliva and debris. The stainless steel rings can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Check the bit regularly for any signs of wear and tear, and replace it if necessary.
