Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing Indoors:
- Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost.
- Sow seeds thinly on the surface; do not cover with compost.
- Maintain a temperature of 18–25°C and keep consistently moist. Avoid dry conditions.
Growing On:
- Keep seedlings in a bright location, shaded from direct sunlight.
- Once large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into individual 8 cm pots filled with potting compost.
Hardening Off & Planting Out:
- Gradually acclimate young plants to outdoor conditions over 2–3 weeks.
- Plant outdoors only after all danger of frost has passed.
- Space plants approximately 30 cm apart.
- Choose a sheltered spot that receives full sun.
- Suitable for patio pots and hanging baskets.
Care:
- Water plants well during dry weather.
- Feed regularly with a liquid fertilizer.
- Handle seeds with care due to their small size.
Compatibility:
This variety is primarily grown as an annual ornamental plant. It is compatible with general potting composts and liquid fertilizers suitable for flowering plants. It thrives in containers and well-drained garden beds in sunny locations.
