Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare the Wick: Before lighting, ensure the wooden wick is trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). If the wick is too long, it may produce excessive soot or an uneven flame. If it's too short, it might not light properly.
- First Burn: For the initial burn, allow the candle to melt until the wax pool reaches the edges of the jar (typically 2-3 hours). This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.
- Lighting: Use a long match or lighter to ignite the wooden wick. Hold the flame to the wick until it catches.
Compatibility:
This candle is designed for general home use in any room. It is compatible with most indoor environments where a calming, natural ambiance is desired. Ensure it is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.
Care:
- Trimming the Wick: After each burn, once the wax has cooled, trim the wooden wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps maintain a clean burn and prevents excessive flame height.
- Extinguishing: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid using the cork lid to extinguish the flame.
- Cleaning the Jar: Once the candle is fully used, the glass jar can be cleaned with warm, soapy water. It can be repurposed for storage or decor.
- Storage: Store the candle with the cork lid on in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its fragrance.
