Setup, Compatibility & Care
When you receive your 1-litre pot, ensure you transplant it into a high-quality, free-draining compost mix if moving to a container. If planting directly into the ground, amend the soil with organic matter to improve moisture retention.
Care Instructions:
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist for the first season. Once established, it becomes more drought-tolerant but appreciates deep watering during extreme heat.
- Pruning: Prune back in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous new growth and larger flower heads.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support the 100-day bloom cycle.
- Location: Choose a position with partial shade. While hardy, the blooms last longer if protected from the harshest direct midday sun.
