The 'Zombie' Pumpkin seeds, a uniquely intriguing variety from the exclusive Kew Vegetable Seed Collection, are perfect for gardeners seeking an unusual and festive addition to their autumn displays. Each plant is capable of producing up to three impressively warty fruits, making them a fantastic talking point. Grown in association with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, this collection offers a blend of unique and reliable vegetable varieties for your garden, allotment, and kitchen. How to Grow - Light: Requires full sun, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. - Temperature: Sow indoors with temperatures between 20–25°C (68–77°F). Plant outdoors only after all risks of frost have passed. - Watering: Maintain consistently moist soil. Using mulch can help conserve moisture. - Feeding: Apply a general fertiliser a few weeks after transplanting the seedlings. - Humidity: Ensure good air circulation around the plants to prevent issues. - Indoors: Sow seeds from April to June, 2.5cm deep in small pots. Germination typically occurs within 5–7 days. - Outdoors: Direct sow from late May to June in mounds. Sow two seeds per hole and thin to the strongest seedling. - Training: Train the long stems around the plant to help manage their spread. - Harvest: Harvest before the first frost, when the skin is hard and the fruits begin to crack at the stem.
