The Tether Tools TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C Cable is an essential tool for professional photographers and videographers who require high-speed, reliable data transmission during tethered shooting sessions. Designed to handle speeds up to 10 Gb/s, this cable ensures rapid image transfers and stable connectivity between your camera and computer, though it is strictly optimized for data transfer and should not be used for charging devices.

No, this cable is specifically engineered for high-speed data transfer and is not designed for power delivery or charging devices.
Yes, the USB-C connectors are compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 ports, though data speeds will be governed by the USB 3.2 Gen 2 specification.
This cable is designed for data transfer, such as photo tethering. While it may support some video signals, it is not certified as a video-specific cable.
The cable connectors feature soft-grip tips with helpful labels clearly indicating which side is intended for the camera and which is for the computer.
The braided exterior provides superior structural integrity, shielding against electromagnetic interference and protecting the cable from everyday wear and tear.
Ensure the cable is fully seated in both the camera and computer ports, and verify that the camera is set to the correct communication mode in its menu settings.
Check that you are plugged into a USB 3.1 or 3.2 compatible port on your computer, as older USB 2.0 ports will drastically limit data transfer speeds.
Inspect the cable for any physical damage or tight kinks and ensure no other heavy equipment is pulling on the cable tension points.
To set up your tethering workflow, simply insert one end of the USB-C cable into your camera's data port and the other into your computer's high-speed USB-C port. Ensure that both devices are running the latest firmware to support USB 3.2 Gen 2 protocols. For care, avoid bending the cable at sharp angles at the connector points to preserve the internal shielding. Store the cable loosely coiled to prevent permanent kinks, and keep the connectors clean of debris to ensure a secure, stable fit during every session.
