It is recommended to plant them during the spring or autumn dormancy periods to allow for the best root establishment.
Yes, they can be grown in large containers, but ensure the pots have excellent drainage and consider regular feeding.
Harvesting typically occurs from late summer through autumn when the berries turn a vibrant, deep red.
Yes, goji berries are very hardy and are well-suited to the UK climate, surviving winter frosts without issues.
You can eat them fresh, keep them in the refrigerator for a few days, or dry them in a dehydrator for long-term storage.
Light pruning once a year in early spring is sufficient to maintain shape and promote healthy fruiting wood.
Ensure the plant is receiving at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
Improve air circulation by pruning crowded branches and avoid overhead watering.
Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser during the spring and ensure the base is mulched to retain moisture.
Upon arrival in their 9cm pots, prepare the planting site by clearing weeds and enriching the soil with organic compost. Choose a position that receives full sun, as this is essential for maximum berry production. Dig a hole twice the width of the pot and plant at the same depth as the nursery container. For care, keep the plants watered during their first growing season until roots are established. Pruning is best performed in late winter or early spring to encourage new growth and manage the shrub's shape. These plants are compatible with most soil types, though they prefer neutral to slightly alkaline pH levels.
