The fridge section uses a static cooling system, and the freezer requires manual defrosting; there is no automatic defrost feature.
No, this specific model (FAB30LWH6UK) comes with a fixed left-hand hinge and cannot be reversed.
To ensure the doors can open to their full 110-degree angle and allow for shelf removal, you must leave a 175mm gap on the hinge side.
The FAB30 is designed to maintain temperatures for up to 20 hours during a power failure, provided the doors remain closed.
It uses bright, energy-efficient LED light strips located on both sides of the interior to ensure optimal visibility.
The freezer can freeze up to 4 kg of food in a 24-hour period.
Check that the door is closing properly and verify that the airflow around the unit is not blocked by cabinetry or walls.
The freezer is a manual defrost model; ensure you are defrosting regularly and check that the door seal is intact and free of debris.
Ensure the appliance is perfectly level on the floor. Verify that it is not touching surrounding walls or cabinets, which can cause vibration.
Proper installation is crucial for the Smeg FAB30. Because of its rounded, retro-style doors, it is mandatory to leave a 175mm gap on the hinge side if the unit is positioned next to a wall, or the door will not open to the full 110-degree angle required to remove shelves and drawers. The unit is designed to operate in ambient temperatures ranging from 10°C to 43°C (Climate class SN-T). Maintenance involves periodic cleaning of the chrome-trimmed glass shelves and manual defrosting of the 72-litre freezer compartment to prevent ice buildup and maintain freezing efficiency. Ensure the unit is placed on a level surface to prevent door misalignment over time.
