This Saxifraga, often called the Mother of Thousands, is an ideal choice for indoor gardeners and terrarium enthusiasts looking for a fast-growing, visually striking plant with silver-laced green foliage. It excels at propagating itself via runners, making it a rewarding option for beginners interested in plant multiplication; however, it is a tender plant that requires consistent humidity and will not survive outdoors in colder climates.

No, this is a tender indoor plant and will not survive outdoors in most climates. It should remain inside at all times.
Once the plantlets on the runners have developed small roots, you can gently detach them from the parent plant and place them into their own small pots with moist compost.
It prefers bright but indirect light. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves, while too little light will slow its growth significantly.
The plant is delivered in a standard nursery pot. You will need to provide your own 7cm decorative pot cover if you wish to hide the plastic container.
Keep the compost moist at all times, but ensure it never becomes waterlogged or sits in standing water.
These plants are sent out as unnamed, unlabelled varieties, so the exact leaf pattern or specific form may vary from the image provided.
This is usually caused by low humidity. Increase your misting frequency and ensure the plant is kept away from direct heat sources like radiators.
This indicates overwatering. Ensure the drainage holes in the nursery pot are clear and allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly before watering again.
Check light levels; if the plant is in a dark corner, move it to a brighter spot with indirect light and check if it needs repotting into fresh soil.
When your plant arrives in its 6cm nursery pot, it is ready to be placed in a 7cm decorative pot cover for an immediate aesthetic upgrade. Use a high-quality, loam-based potting compost to ensure the roots remain healthy. Keep the soil consistently moist but avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot. Mist the leaves frequently to simulate the humid environment the plant craves. If the plant becomes root-bound, plan to repot it during the spring months to encourage further growth.
