Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify the timing pulley or camshaft sprocket that needs removal.
- Adjust the gripper arms of the puller to match the diameter of the pulley. Ensure the arms are set within the 42 mm to 82 mm range.
- Position the puller so that the gripper arms securely engage the edges of the pulley. Ensure the arms can grip material up to 10 mm thick.
- Insert the spindle into the center of the pulley (if applicable) or position it to apply pressure against the pulley's center.
- Use a 19 mm wrench or socket to turn the spindle clockwise. This will draw the pulley off its shaft.
Compatibility:
This puller is designed for timing pulleys and camshaft sprockets with diameters between 42 mm and 82 mm. It is compatible with most standard automotive applications requiring pulley removal.
Care:
- After each use, clean the tool with a dry cloth to remove grease and debris.
- Apply a light coat of oil to the spindle and threaded parts to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
- Store the puller in a dry environment, preferably in its original packaging or a tool case.
- Periodically inspect the gripper arms and spindle for any signs of wear or damage.
