Setup, Compatibility & Care
For optimal success, prepare your soil by ensuring it is fertile, well-draining, and moist. Sow seeds at a depth of 1cm in drills spaced 30cm apart. Once established, thin the seedlings to a 30cm distance to prevent overcrowding. Watering is the most critical aspect of care; you must maintain consistently moist soil, particularly in the two weeks leading up to harvest, to keep the leaves tender and prevent the plant from flowering (bolting). Using fleece or protective netting is highly recommended in the early stages to shield young plants from birds and garden insects.
