FAQs

What type of bait works best with these feeders?

These feeders work best with moist groundbait mixes, pellets (soaked and drained), or a combination of both. The bait needs to be cohesive enough to hold its shape when compressed.

How do I choose the right feeder weight?

Select a lighter weight (15g, 20g) for calmer, shallower waters or when casting shorter distances. Use heavier weights (24g, 30g) for deeper water, stronger currents, or longer casts to ensure the feeder stays put.

Can I use this set for sea fishing?

This set is primarily designed for freshwater coarse and carp fishing. Its performance in saltwater environments may vary.

Is the moulding cap essential for using the feeders?

While not strictly essential, the moulding cap is highly recommended. It significantly simplifies the process of loading bait evenly and compactly, leading to better casting and presentation.

How should I clean the feeders after use?

Rinse the feeders and moulding cap thoroughly with fresh water after each use to remove any residual bait. Allow them to air dry completely before storing to prevent corrosion or mildew.

What is the benefit of having multiple feeder weights?

Having multiple weights allows you to adapt your fishing approach based on the conditions. You can cast further, hold bottom better in currents, or present a smaller bait package depending on the weight chosen.

Troubleshooting

Bait not compressing well in the mould.

Ensure your bait mixture has the correct moisture content. If too dry, add a small amount of water; if too wet, add more dry mix.

Feeder difficult to remove from the mould.

Gently twist the feeder as you pull it from the mould. Ensure the mould is clean and free of excess bait residue.

Feeder detaching from the line.

Check that the feeder is securely attached to your rig or swivel. Use a reliable knot or a strong swivel to prevent detachment during casting or retrieval.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Provides multiple weight options for varied fishing conditions.
The moulding cap simplifies bait preparation and application.
Suitable for both novice and experienced anglers.
Cost-effective solution for method feeder fishing.

Cons

The moulding cap might require a learning curve for perfect compression.
Lacks specific instructions for advanced baiting techniques.
Feeder size might be too large for some smaller coarse species.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Attach the chosen feeder weight to your main fishing line using a rig or swivel.
Place your chosen groundbait or pellet mix into the soft touch moulding cap.
Ensure the feeder is seated correctly within the cap.
Apply firm, even pressure to compress the bait into the feeder.
Carefully remove the feeder from the mould, ensuring the bait is securely attached.

Compatibility:

This set is designed to be compatible with standard fishing lines and swivels commonly used in coarse and carp fishing. The feeder design accommodates various types of groundbait, pellets, and other soft baits.
