Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the holders is straightforward: simply place your candle of choice on the base before inserting it through the opening of the cage. Ensure the candle is centered to promote even burning and prevent heat from concentrating on one side of the metal frame.
To keep your birdcage holders in top condition, follow these care steps:
- Cleaning: Dust periodically with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemical cleaners, as these will strip the antique matte finish.
- Candle Safety: Always trim candle wicks to 1/4 inch before lighting to prevent excessive soot buildup on the metal.
- Heat Management: While the metal is heat-resistant, avoid using candles that are too tall or wide, as the heat may cause the paint to discolor over time.
- Storage: If storing between seasons, wrap each cage individually in acid-free tissue paper to protect the distressed finish from scratches.
