Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
When preparing to sew, it is recommended to use a new, heavy universal needle (e.g., size 90/14 or 100/16) to easily penetrate the multiple layers of fabric and wadding without skipping stitches or causing damage.
Compatibility:
This fabric is compatible with most standard sewing machines. Due to its weight, it works best with projects that benefit from structure, such as coats, jackets, vests, skirts, bags, and home decor items like cushions. It is less suitable for very lightweight garments like blouses or flowing dresses.
Care:
For best results and to maintain the integrity of the quilting and fabric layers, dry cleaning is recommended. If machine washing is necessary, use a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry. Avoid using bleach. Iron on a low setting if needed, preferably on the cotton sateen side.
