Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the main water supply to the faucet is turned off.
- Carefully remove the faucet handle and the old cartridge, typically by unscrewing retaining nuts or clips.
- Identify the correct cartridge based on its color-coded O-ring (red for counterclockwise to open, blue for clockwise to open) and insert it into the faucet body.
- Secure the cartridge with the provided mounting screws or the faucet's original hardware.
- Reassemble the faucet handle.
- Slowly turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.
Compatibility:
This cartridge is designed with standard dimensions (5cm height, 1.8cm bottom diameter) for broad compatibility with many common hot and cold water faucets. However, it is crucial to measure your existing faucet valve core and compare it to these dimensions before purchasing to ensure a proper fit. It is suitable for use in bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, gardens, and construction sites.
Care:
Ceramic tap cartridges are generally maintenance-free. However, to ensure longevity:
- Periodically check for any signs of leakage.
- If water flow is reduced, the issue might be with aerators or internal faucet parts, not typically the cartridge itself unless damaged.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners on the faucet exterior, as harsh chemicals could potentially affect O-rings over time.
