The JT Sprocket (726.21.57) is an essential replacement part for owners of 1972-1977 Honda CB500 motorcycles who are looking to maintain or restore their drivetrain efficiency. Engineered for optimal strength and reduced weight through advanced computer-aided design, this sprocket provides a reliable power transfer from the engine to the rear wheel. While it is built to high specifications, users should ensure their chain and rear sprocket are in good condition when installing to prevent uneven wear on the new component.

This specific part is engineered for the Honda CB500 (1972-1977). While some parts share similarities, verify the part number 726.21.57 against your specific frame and engine code.
This product listing is for the sprocket itself. Please reuse your existing mounting hardware or purchase a new retainer if the old one is damaged.
It is highly recommended to replace the chain and rear sprocket simultaneously to ensure all components seat together correctly and have an equal lifespan.
Inspect the teeth for hooking, thinning, or sharp edges. If the teeth look like a shark fin rather than a rounded profile, the sprocket is worn.
Yes, as long as the chain pitch matches the sprocket, which is standard for the Honda CB500 series.
Ensure the output shaft splines are clean of old grease and rust; check for any burrs on the shaft.
Check that the chain is properly aligned and adjusted; verify the sprocket nut or retainer is torqued correctly.
Ensure the rear sprocket is not worn out; mixing a new front sprocket with a heavily worn rear one can cause chain mismatch issues.
Installation of the front sprocket requires removing the sprocket cover and securing the retainer or nut according to your motorcycle's service manual. Always ensure the output shaft splines are clean and free of debris before sliding the new sprocket into place. Compatibility is strictly limited to the Honda CB500 produced between 1972 and 1977. For care, keep your chain properly lubricated and adjusted to the manufacturer's specified slack to prevent premature tooth wear or chain failure.
