Can I use this on plastic pipes?

Troubleshooting

Solder fails to flow into the joint

Ensure the pipe and fitting have been cleaned thoroughly and that sufficient heat is being applied evenly around the circumference.

Leak detected after cooling

Once the system is depressurized, apply additional heat to the joint and add a small amount of extra solder, or disassemble and clean the area before re-soldering.

Discoloration on copper surface

Minor oxidation is normal during heating, but ensure you are not overheating the metal, which can soften the copper and weaken the structure.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High-quality copper construction for durability
  • Fully WRAS approved for potable water safety
  • Meets EN 1254 industry standards
  • Compact 15 x 8mm size for precise transitions

Cons

  • Requires soldering tools and expertise
  • Permanent connection not easily disassembled
  • Requires proper surface preparation for success

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install the fitting, cut your copper pipe to the required length and ensure the ends are de-burred using a file or reamer. Clean both the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting socket with abrasive mesh. Apply a thin, even coat of soldering flux to both surfaces, insert the pipe into the fitting, and apply heat uniformly using a torch. Once the flux bubbles, touch your solder wire to the joint opening and allow the capillary action to draw the molten solder inside. Allow the joint to cool naturally without moving it. Post-installation, it is essential to wipe away excess flux residue to prevent future corrosion. This product is strictly for use with copper piping systems.
