Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
This G.Skill Aegis module is specifically designed for systems that support DDR3 SDRAM and utilize 240-pin DIMM slots. It is crucial to verify your motherboard's specifications to confirm DDR3 compatibility and the maximum supported memory frequency. This module operates at 1600MHz and requires a 1.5V power supply. It is generally not compatible with motherboards designed for DDR4 or DDR5 memory.
Setup:
- Power off your computer completely and unplug the power cord.
- Open your computer's case.
- Locate the RAM slots on your motherboard. They are usually long, narrow slots with clips on either end.
- Align the notch on the RAM module with the notch in the RAM slot. Do not force it; it should only fit one way.
- Gently push down on both ends of the RAM module until the clips on the sides snap into place, securing the module.
- Close the computer case, reconnect the power cord, and power on your system.
- Your system should recognize the new RAM module automatically. You can verify the installed memory in your system's BIOS or operating system information.
Care:
- Handle the RAM module by its edges to avoid touching the gold contacts or components.
- Store RAM modules in an anti-static bag when not installed.
- Ensure proper airflow within your computer case to help dissipate heat generated by components, including RAM.
