The Uni-ball Signo UM-120 is designed for students, artists, and professionals who prioritize bold, vibrant lines in their daily writing and creative tasks. Its primary benefit is the high-quality, pigment-based gel ink that offers an opaque, paint-like consistency suitable for diverse paper types, including dark cardstock. A key caveat to note is that because the gel ink is rich and fluid, users should allow a moment for the ink to dry on non-porous surfaces to avoid smudging.

Yes, the pigment-based gel ink is water-resistant once dry.
On standard 80gsm paper, it may show through slightly, but it generally performs well on heavier-weight paper.
Yes, the opaque nature of the ink allows it to show up clearly on dark surfaces.
The UM-120 series is designed as a disposable gel pen.
The pigment-based ink is specifically formulated to be fade-resistant and archival.
Due to the gel ink's flow, left-handed writers should be mindful of smearing and may need to adjust their hand position to allow for drying time.
Check the nib for dried ink or paper fibers and gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
Store the pen with the tip pointing down for an hour to allow gravity to pull the gel toward the nib.
Ensure you are using appropriate paper types and allow more drying time, especially if you are left-handed.
This pen requires no setup; it is ready to use immediately upon removing the protective tip wax. For optimal performance, always replace the cap when the pen is not in use to prevent the gel ink from thickening or drying out at the tip. Store the pens horizontally or with the cap facing downward to keep the ink near the nib. If you are using the pen on glossy or non-porous surfaces, allow approximately 5-10 seconds for the ink to fully set. The ink is permanent on most paper surfaces, so exercise caution when working near delicate fabrics.
