FAQs
What species can I target with these 7cm Slick Shads?
They are perfectly sized for perch, zander, and smaller pike, though they will occasionally attract other predatory species like trout or chub.
Are these lures scented?
The Fox Rage Slick Shad range is primarily designed for its action and UV properties rather than scent-based attraction.
What is the primary benefit of the UV feature?
UV-reactive lures reflect light differently than standard lures, making them significantly more visible to fish in low-light conditions, deep water, or murky environments.
Can I use these for drop-shot fishing?
Yes, the 7cm size is excellent for drop-shotting, providing a subtle, realistic movement when twitched correctly.
How many lures come in a pack?
Each pack contains 5 pieces of 7cm lures in a mixed color assortment.
Troubleshooting
Lure swimming on its side
The lure is likely rigged crookedly; remove it from the jig hook and thread it again, ensuring it sits perfectly straight along the hook shank.
Tail action is sluggish
Check that the hook point is not exiting too far back on the lure body, which can stiffen the tail section. Adjust the hook exit point further forward.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To maximize the life and performance of your Slick Shad lures:
- Rigging: Use a needle-sharp jig hook and ensure the lure is threaded straight on the shank to avoid 'tail-spin' or unnatural swimming patterns.
- Storage: Always store these lures in their original packaging or in a dedicated lure box. Avoid mixing them with other types of soft plastics, as chemical reactions between different materials can cause the bodies to melt or warp.
- Cleaning: After saltwater use, rinse the lures with fresh water and allow them to air dry before putting them back into storage.
- Maintenance: If the tail becomes slightly bent during storage, dip the lure in near-boiling water for 5-10 seconds to restore its original shape.
